A group of scientists from the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom claimed to have found this new planet named Gliese 12b. They claim that life can exist on this planet. The temperature of the new planet is about 42 degrees Celsius. Which means, this planet can be habitable for humans. Basically, it is one of the few known planets where scientists claim that it is theoretically possible for humans to survive.

The research team is working jointly with NASA and the European Space Agency. According to them, there is still no information about the planet's atmosphere. It took researchers less than a year to calculate the new planet's size, temperature and how it moves.

The research will add new dimensions to the understanding of how many Earth-like planets there are. Not only that it will help to know and understand more about Earth's atmosphere.

Gliese 12b is 40 light-years distant from the space point of view. It would take the fastest spacecraft about three hundred thousand years to reach there. The planet orbits the Sun once every 12.8 days. Because planets like Gliese 12b are so few in number and so far apart, that it is difficult to know the atmosphere and temperature of these planets.

In the next phase of this research, the researchers will examine the atmosphere of the new planet to see if there is any similarity between the atmosphere of the planet and the Earth. A light layer atmosphere is ideal for human habitation.
